The unit looks and works like new. Zappiti is no longer in business, but all that means is you cannot download DVD covers from the cloud, which I never used . The unit can be used as a SMB server accessible on your local network. All files on the internal hard drive show as a searchable list, which is clean and very easy to use. This is an excellent server and media player which uses an internal hard drive that is searchable on your windows network. I wrote and deleted files to it all the time.
